- Phishing for Your Google Account via Claude
What You Need to Know
A recent Claude scam is targeting users’ Google accounts. The fake page claims to be giving away a free month of Claude Max. Looks good on the surface, and it’s not even asking for any credit card or other payment details.
The catch comes when a user goes to claim the offer and is met with a “Sign in to claim” screen. From there, it probably seems innocuous to use a Google or Apple account to sign in. However, the hidden risk comes with what you allow it access to when granting account access.
What You Should Do
- Don’t trust Claude offers from 3rd party links. Official offers should be from them directly.
- Trust your password manager. If the password/sign-in info doesn’t autofill for Google, that should be a red flag.
